Benjamin was the son of Rev. Thomas S. and Anna C. Watson of The Rectory, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. He entered CCB in January 1909 where he was in the Rugby 1st XV from 1912 to 1914.
He is buried at Philosophe British Cemetery, Mazingarbe, Grave 1.F. 26.
