William Brabazon was the eldest son of Mr. W. H. and Mrs. E. S. Owens, of Marsh Avenue, Kansas, Missouri, U.S.A., originally natives of Limerick, Ireland.

William attended Campbell College Belfast from April 1911 to July 1913. He received Commission on the 16th October 1915 in the Royal Engineers and served with the 35th Field Company.

He reportedly died at his parents' residence in Limerick, recovering from wounds sustained in action, but he died after an operation for peritonitis (25 June 1916). He is buried at Limerick (St. Mary) Cathedral Churchyard, County Limerick Ireland.
