W. L. BERKELEY. LANCE CORPORAL SOUTH AFRICAN INFANTRY. BORN 9TH AUGUST 1889 - DIED 3RD APRIL 1917.
William was the youngest of two boys to attend CCB, and the brother of Lowry Edmonds Berkley (OC 391).
While reported to have died on the 9th April 1917 the CWGC put his date of death as the 24th April 1917. William is buried at Cabaret Rouge British Cemetery, Grave XV.L.14. His inscription reads "For us the parting and the sorrow for him God speed".
