William Moore was born on the 16th June 1892, the son of Elizabeth R. Moore, of Ashley House, Albert Bridge Rd., Belfast, and the late Dr. A.P.B. Moore. He was the brother of Archibald, Main Moore (OC978).

Letters William wrote from the Front to his family talk fondly about Portrush and his life in the Frontline. William was killed in action on 16 August 1917 and is commemorated at Tyne Cot Memorial, West-Vlaanderen Belgium.
